Sometimes, it can be confusing trying to distinguish between Bukit Bintang Plaza
and Sungei Wang Plaza as they are adjacent to each other. Housed within one
building are two shopping complexes, both as bustling as the next. One way to
distinguish between the two is that Bukit Bintang Plazas anchor tenant is
Metrojaya which offers items from a moderate-to-high price, and that at its
lowest floor, you will be spoilt for choices if youre looking for jewellery.
This mall is well known for its many shops selling items such as clothes,
fashion accessories, footwear, sports goods, electrical equipment, watches and

optical store and show your glasses and ask how much it coat to make a similar
pair. You'll go wow and it will take about 3 - 4 working days to get it ready.
Note - There are amusement centres, restaurants and other department
stores. Exhibitions and concerts are frequently held at the concourse level.
This is one place you dont want to miss.
Low Yat Plaza
Here you can get a comprehensive mix and selection from a wide range of reputed
brands and latest IT items - laptops and PCs, PDAs, computer games, digital
cameras, mobile phones, scanners, projectors, home theatre systems and IT
peripherals. A popular place to shop for IT products in Kuala Lumpur, the mall
is several stories-high. Though dedicated mainly on IT items there is also a
good range of camcorders, cameras, cell phones and other electronic products.
The
IT section of the mall attracts a huge crowd of shoppers, both local and
international, who want good computer parts at bargain-bin prices. Because of
the sheer number of dealers, competition is extremely intense, and you wont
find prices for computers any cheaper in the whole of Malaysia than Low Yat
Plaza.
Shoppers can get the latest graphic cards, LCD monitors, motherboards, RAM
chips, printers and processors to build up their computers. There are also a
wide range of laptops to choose from, such as Asus, Fujitsu, Toshiba, Sony, Acer
and Macintosh. On another note, the floor also has many shops that retail
pirated computer games as well as those for the Playstation and Xbox. This is
another pulling factor for international visitors who want cheap games!
Imbi
Plaza
Located beside Sungei Wang Plaza along Jalan Imbi. The mall is a little
run-down, but avid computer geeks will enjoy a wide range of computer products
on all three of its floors. This was the IT products hub in Kuala Lumpur for
many years until Low Yat Plaza dethroned it. This is the place for those who are
interested in computer hardware and software. Take your time to check out the
latest computer products at the numerous shops here.
Still, the mall is popular, and you can get virtually the same computer products
along with the same wide rage as Low Yat Plaza. In fact, some of the shops are
opened by the same dealers retailing in Low Yat. The mall is full of shops
retailing pirated computer games as well, besides an array of flash drives,
routers, hard drives and other computer accessories.
