Introduced on 1 February 1974, Federal Territory Day or Hari Wilayah Persekutuan is a state holiday for Federal Territory in Malaysia. It is celebrated on 1 February every year in Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya. The date marks the anniversary of formation of the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory in 1974, ceded by the state of Selangor to the federal government of Malaysia.
The Federal Territories in Malaysia now comprise three territories: Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan, governed directly by the federal government of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is the national capital of Malaysia, Putrajaya is the administrative capital, and Labuan is an offshore international financial centre. Both Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are enclaves in the state of Selangor, while Labuan is an island off the coast of Sabah.

After creation was complete, Parvati asked Lord Shiva which rituals pleased him the most. The Lord replied that the 13th night of the new moon, during the month of Maagha, is his most favourite day. The festival is celebrated by offerings of Bael (Bilva) leaves to the Lord Shiva, all day fasting and an all night long vigil.

Chinese Festival - Chap Goh Meh

Yet against the usual amount of classic Hollywood pomp and swish they, and the whole film, are still a joy to watch. Starring Norma Shearer and Leslie Howard.

Expo / Fair - MotoXpo KL 2012 Show

MotoXpo KL 2012 is to be held from 22nd to 26th February 2012 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur. This event will be the first of its kind where the major players in the Malaysian powered two wheeler industry will be contributing in a concerted effort to bring the latest and the best products and services from the industry to the public in one occasion.
Visitors can look forward to browsing through and learning about the latest products and services via EXHIBITS AND DISPLAYS along with live presentations and product launches. That’s not all. For the first time in an event of this nature, there will be a LIVE ACTION ARENA where visitors can witness live action riding demonstrations and also engage in test rides with a selected line-up of vehicles.

Live Concert - Evanescence Live in Malaysia 2012

Evanescence was founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. Their first full-length album, Fallen, has sold more than 17 million copies worldwide and helped the band win two Grammy Awards. Evanescence's major label debut single "Bring Me to Life", was recognized at the 46th Grammy Awards in 2004, where the band won the Best Hard Rock Performance and Best New Artist awards and were nominated for two others.
The line-up of the group has changed several times with temporary band members contributing to tour performances. Announced in June 2009, the newest line-up of the band eventually returned with Evanescence, their self-titled third studio album, and it was released on October 11, 2011. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and also managed to top the Digital Albums, Top Rock Albums, Alternative Albums and the Hard Rock Albums chart in the US.

Kuala Lumpur will yet again host the top players from the WTA (Women’s Tennis Association), who will compete for a prize purse of US$220,000 and valuable World Ranking Points. Confirmed front-runners for the BMW Malaysian Open 2012 are 7-times Grand Slam winner and former world number 1, Venus Williams, world no. 9, Marion Bartoli and China’s rising star, Shuai Peng
The tournament format will include both singles and doubles competition and will see 16 doubles teams and 32 singles players competing in a knockout competition over the course of the seven day tournament.

Theatre / Play - Shakespeare Demystified: The Merchant Of Venice

The Merchant of Venice is one of Shakespeare’s most exciting plays, filled with laughter and darkness, love and hate, forgiveness and revenge. The Jewish moneylender Shylock makes a loan to Antonio, a Christian merchant. Their loan contract; steeped in prejudice and centered on the play’s infamous “pound of flesh,” sweeps the two men and everyone in their worlds into chaos. The insightful Portia boldly intervenes to try and save Antonio, with unforeseen consequences for all.
